Wear better shoes

If you’re not a woman, have you noticed that most women fuss about shoes?

If you’re a woman, you know why. Shoes are a key ingredient in that critical first impression. These days there are so many first impressions you have to make them all count.

You may think you’re going to the city for an ordinary coffee with an old friend. But, who knows—your future business partner may be having a coffee at the table next to you. And, unexpectedly, a conversation starts that could take you places.

Always check in the mirror before you go out, are YOU looking like the person you would like to do business with?

So what about the shoes? You can get away with jeans with holes in them (especially if you work in the creative industries or you’re a hip lawyer), but holes in your shoes … I don’t think so!

It’s not enough just buying good (which means expensive) shoes, you also need to look after them well. Wash them, polish them, resole them.

If you’re a man reading this you might feel this whole ‘shoe fashion trends’ thing is just not you, simply stick with solid brand shoes and look after them well, you’d be able to keep the same great shoes for years.
