Making plans and setting goals are—of course—important. However, what’s even more important is to constantly measure and monitor your progress.
Think of being on a sailing boat in a race. You need to track the fastest course around an island. If you sail in a box-like course you will spend far more time than your competitor who checks his course every five minutes, and constantly adjusts the course, trims the sails, and so forth.
It’s exactly the same in business. To win the game, you have to not only set your sales targets and plot the course ahead, but constantly monitor how you’re going.
Create a spreadsheet with your weekly targets. Sales, emails, phone calls, social media posts, production volume. Whichever are the most important parameters to track in your business. Keep filling in as week goes by.
Stay on top.
