This is a lot harder to do than it used to be. Facebook messages on? Email on? Skype on? Phone on? Radio on? Family on? And you say you find it hard to concentrate? You have to be kidding!
Seriously, block out time where you write, create product, write proposals or simply think. It’s essential for your business growth, so don’t neglect it. Those emails can wait another 2 hours.
Indeed I see this happen on both the macro and micro level. Minute to minute you have to focus on the task at hand until it’s complete. At the same time, you need to (try to) focus on building just one business at a time. It’s not easy at first, but it’s the discipline that makes the real difference down the track.
A simple way to focus, can just be to book a meeting with yourself. Put it in the diary. Show up on the time, and recall who is the most important person in your business and why you started it in the first place. You’ll see your productivity skyrocket.
By the way, don’t answer the phone when you’re in a meeting with yourself. You wouldn’t do that if you were in a meeting with somebody else, would you?
