Marketing revolution: Send a letter

send a letterWow, this is truly radical. When you can email, why in the world would you send it in the post?

The answer is simple: because almost none of your prospects get anything personal in the mail anymore. It’s a simple, easy and affordable way for you to stand out.

Is it harder to do than a good old email campaign? For sure. You’ll need proper design, you’ll need a good printer. And—gosh—you’ll need to pay for postage!

But what if you get a 1.5% sales conversion rate on posted mail instead of 1% on email? The extra sales will usually quickly pay off the added investment. Say you send out 5,000 mails that could mean a lot of extra orders!

If you want to grab some serious attention consider ‘lumpy’ mails. Send a DVD, USB stick or … a teddy bear. It obviously depends on what you’re selling. Don’t be silly, stay relevant. Whatever you do make sure it leads to immediate engagement with your prospect.

And by the way, sending the letter is just step one. Follow up with a phone call a few days later. You will soon see the road start opening up ahead for you.
