Outsource? But aren’t we supposed to preserve local jobs, boost our economy and all that?
For sure we are, but if your business goes down because it’s loaded with employees that are too expensive, that’s not exactly helping the economy, is it?
You have a duty to do what the business requires. Remember you have placed yourself as custodian and guardian of the business, and you must do what’s best for the business.
A healthy business will help you and other members of the community in return. Make sure you use that essential hiring checklist when you select a person to contract or outsource to.
Don’t forget that outsource people (both here and overseas) are often far more qualified than we give them credit for. Just because they’re on what appears to be a low charge rate, doesn’t mean they can’t be brilliant. So push their productivity and quality, and set high expectations of them.
