Get a coach

But please don’t take the first coach that comes along cold-calling. Yes they’ll often promise the world. Unfortunately it’s common they do not deliver on the grand promises. Really great coaches do exist. Give one a test drive and see if you like him or her.

Check if you feel they can stimulate you to grow and keep you in check when you’re on a rant … A great coach will often feel slightly uncomfortable to you—after all, their job is to challenge you so you can grow.

If you have never used a coach before there is nothing wrong with a coach who follows a textbook approach, but think for a moment about what kind of person you want to spend all that time with. Will it be better for you to work with somebody who has experience in business like yourself?

Think about coaching in a wide context like you would think about life in a wide context. Fitness, nutrition, sleep, family & relationship, business, finances and spirituality. If you can’t get a coach who can work in–depth with you in all those areas, at least get a coach who can guide you to make balanced decision across all areas of your life, and then see if you can find experts in the different specialties, like a fitness coach.
