Job well done, or even just part of a job well done? In that case you need to ask for a testimonial—and make sure you’re allowed to publish it.
Video is great, but text with a picture next to it is totally worth having too. Or why not ask people to post directly on a social platform like LinkedIn?
Why are testimonials so great? Because it makes your prospect think “it must be true because everybody else says so …”. That’s why it’s called social proof.
Don’t be shy about providing testimonials to those who ask, assuming they are people you know, like and trust. In many cases your testimonial for somebody else will even help your search rankings and social media visibility.
When asking for testimonials be to the point and be prompt. If you finished a project or a contract job last week, now is time to ask for the testimonial. If you ask in 3 months it’s likely the person you’re requesting it from will find it a lot harder to write a good testimonial for you.
